The heat sink and case fan from an older PC the fan is completely choked with I dunno black carpet lint or cat hair and dust and lord knows what else. The fan is off and the lint has decompressed to a thickness of half an inch in spots. There’s also grossness still caked on the fan. A can of spray duster and an antistatic brush are also visible.

After brushing and blowing out the heatsink. You can still see the silhouette of the heatsink in the dust.

Fan is now clean too. Paper towel is now grosser and the silhouette is gone because there’s just so much gross, slightly greasy dust and lint.

OK UGH ITS BOOTING

At some point in its history this machine was owned by a smoker. Now I need to get an ozone generator. Fuck. SO GROSS.

Somebody put Windows 10 on a machine from 2009 with only 3GB of memory. It’s not even a tiny build. It’s just retail windows 10. It swaps constantly. 100% of the time. The disk is always busy. Good luck doing anything.
Almost #retrocomputing. Almost.
